Imagine if credit unions could offer larger businesses the same comprehensive services currently offered by for-profit banks.

  • Strengthening Credit Union Capabilities

Credit unions are gaining in popularity at an amazing rate. As not-for-profit financial institutions, they offer individuals an innovative banking alternative that keeps money circulating in local economies. They also play an important role for many smaller businesses, providing lending and basic commercial services, often when for-profit banks won’t.

Imagine credit unions could offer larger businesses the same comprehensive services currently offered by the big, for-profit banks. If that occurred, we could see a significant amount of money shifted from Wall Street to Main Street, restoring economic justice to communities and giving ethical businesses the chance to align their banking with their values.

The Credit Union Commercial Capabilities Study

The Credit Union Commercial Capabilities Study explores what’s holding back the development of full business services within US credit unions, and what it will take for those barriers to be overcome.

Through surveying and interviewing industry leaders, the study seeks to provide the US credit union sector with a vision for how it can strategically expand its influence and relevance in the coming decades.
